LJC is currently partnering with Diller Scofidio + Renfro (DS+R) on an expansion of The Broad, a contemporary art museum in downtown Los Angeles. Leadership from the museum and DS+R reached out to LJC in 2022, engaging team members who worked together previously and contributed to the successful completion of the original building in 2015. A testament to the role of a trusted advisor, LJC was engaged as the Executive Architect, to ensure design delivery through management and coordination of the project, from concept design through construction administration. The LJC team has worked closely with both the design team and the general contractor, ensuring the design intent is realized in the final project delivery—that it not only meets the client’s needs, but also incorporates the museum’s performance standards while remaining within budget. LJC heads the consultant coordination efforts while working to align the early buyout schedule with agency approvals to maintain the project schedule, enabling a clear path toward the successful completion of this ambitious addition.
