Will Bruder Architects

DESIGN ARCHITECT

With the expansion of the Nevada Museum of Art, LJC continues its collaborative relationship with architect Will Bruder, FAIA, as the executive architect for the addition and reprogramming of the institution’s flagship building. Guided by a strategic plan, the project builds upon the established Center for Art + Environment to expand access to the museum’s diverse programming and collections to serve students, educators, scholars, and the community and increase the number of galleries dedicated to the permanent collections. After completing the original Nevada Museum of Art and following a partnership with LJC as Executive Architect on another project, Will Bruder approached LJC at the completion of schematic design about joining the team for the museum expansion.

As a visionary with both a dedication to detailed design rooted in place, authenticity, materiality, and craftsmanship, as well as a strong relationship to museum leadership, the invitation signified deep trust with the LJC team. The role quickly became that of collaborating with Will Bruder to support the design’s development and to assist in facilitating consensus among the internal stakeholder groups to creatively satisfy their diverse programming requirements and goals. Facilitating these communications became paramount to respect the rigorous schedule, design, and quality, ensuring integrated design excellence.
