The new Quantum campus on Chicago’s South Side represents a major step in establishing the city as a global leader in quantum computing. Located on the former USX site, this transformative project will be led by a partnership between Related and CRG as developers, LJC as the lead designer, and Clayco as the general contractor. Encompassing 120 AC within a 440-AC waterfront property, the campus will drive economic revitalization in the area while positioning Chicago at the forefront of quantum research and education.
With its strategic location, the Quantum campus offers convenient access to major roadways, public transit, and key quantum research partners at the University of Chicago. Once completed, the campus will significantly contribute to Chicago’s growing reputation as a hub for cutting-edge technology and innovation.

Energy efficiency, embodied carbon reduction, resiliency and occupant comfort are foundations to the masterplan's goals. Targets were established based on building type and simulation to identify the areas of greatest opportunity. One example includes daylight studies performed to optimize natural light, minimizing energy demand, while minimizing glare.
